Microsoft Clarity MCP Server setup documentation
What you need
- Use a current Node.js LTS release, npm and an MCP-compatible client.
- Have a Clarity account and a project that already collects the website data you want to inspect.
- Create a project API token in Clarity Settings → Data Export and replace YOUR_CLARITY_API_TOKEN only in your local client configuration.
Limitations and costs
- Available data, time ranges and request limits depend on the Clarity service and your project permissions.
- Session recordings may contain sensitive website activity; share access only with authorized assistants and people.
- The connector does not replace analysis or prove why a user left. It does not configure website tracking or consent settings.
Based on public documentation; not individually installed and tested here.
What is Microsoft Clarity MCP Server?
Microsoft Clarity MCP Server connects an MCP-capable assistant to the Clarity project you already use. Ask about traffic, devices or user behavior, then find relevant session recordings to investigate a confusing page or broken flow. It helps inspect existing analytics; installing this connector does not add Clarity tracking to a website or create traffic data.
Microsoft Clarity MCP Server use cases
- Query Clarity analytics with plain-language questions.
- Find session recordings using supported filters and sorting.
- Look up Clarity documentation from the assistant.
