Review a Web UI with a Vercel Skill: 3 Recorded Findings

Codex read Vercel’s official review skill and checked a small HTML fixture with 3 deliberate issues. Inspect the task, actual findings, source versions and raw output, then reproduce the review.

What Was Reviewed?

A skill is a task instruction sheet for an AI assistant. On 2026-10-13, this Codex session used Vercel’s web-design-guidelines instructions to review a 36-line HTML fixture with 3 deliberate issues.

The task was to read the official skill and its required current guidelines, review the fixture without editing it, and report file-and-line findings. These issues belong to the practice fixture.

Perform a read-only review of web-design-guidelines.html using Vercel’s official web-design-guidelines skill. Read the complete SKILL.md, fetch its required latest guidelines, check external instructions, read the full HTML and apply every rule. Report actual findings by file and line. Do not modify files.

How the Skill Was Used

Codex used its available web-reading and local-file tools. No Skills CLI or skill package was installed, and no repository script was run.

  1. Read the entire official SKILL.md and check whether external instructions exceed the review scope.
  2. Retrieve the required Web Interface Guidelines and record source commits and file hashes.
  3. Read the full fixture, inspect line numbers and relevant keywords, check every rule category, and write the findings.

Actual Findings

test/fixtures/plugin-practice/web-design-guidelines.html:31: The input has no label or aria-label to name it for assistive technology.

test/fixtures/plugin-practice/web-design-guidelines.html:16: outline: none removes the input’s focus indicator without a replacement.

test/fixtures/plugin-practice/web-design-guidelines.html:32: A clickable div performs the action without a native button’s focus and keyboard behavior.

All 3 known fixture issues were recorded. The review did not modify the fixture or the user’s actual web pages.

Reproduce the Review

  1. Open or save the HTML fixture as web-design-guidelines.html.
  2. Give the file and the official skill link to an assistant that can read files. Ask it to fetch the skill’s required latest guidelines and perform a read-only review.
  3. Compare its findings with the raw record: input naming, visible focus and the clickable div. A changed fixture or guideline version may produce different results.

Versions and Limits

Review date: 2026-10-13. Skill metadata version: 1.0.0. Skill commit: 063bee94c3f4df8453406c830b0a7df0f2860278. Guidelines commit: 434b7f91364665f2f733b310ec54809bf8f37937.

This records a source review performed after reading official skill instructions. It does not verify installation, screen-reader behavior, physical devices or complete accessibility compliance. It is not a model benchmark; the specific model version was not verified.

Sources and ranking

This directory lists AI development plugins with public source code and a clear purpose. Browse by task, then open an introduction to learn what a project does, who it is for, and what you need to get started. It covers selected projects, not every AI plugin.

How do the three plugin types differ?

Tool connections (MCP) let AI assistants use external tools such as browsers, code repositories and databases. MCP is the protocol used for these connections.

Reusable skills give a compatible AI assistant instructions and guidance for a particular task.

Editor plugins run inside the software you use to write code, adding AI chat, completions or suggested edits.

How does “Most starred” work?

Projects are sorted by their total GitHub stars. Stars indicate interest; they are not downloads, active users or quality scores. A skill pack counts as one project. Daily star growth is not shown without historical records.

What does “Recently updated” mean?

It uses the most recent code push, which may not be a new release. The 7-day filter checks that project update time; ranking still uses all-time stars. Each introduction shows when its star count was collected. Failed updates keep the last saved data.

Introductions are based on public project documentation. These projects have not each been installed and tested here. Check the project documentation for setup, compatibility and service costs. Refreshing this list only reads saved data; it does not start collection.
