Query Playwright Docs with Context7: 4 Recorded Requests

Four direct requests to the official Context7 MCP service resolved the Playwright library and returned documentation for filling by label, clicking by role and checking text. Inspect actual results, sources and limits.

What Was the Question?

Context7 retrieves development documentation for AI assistants. The specific question was how to fill an input by label, click a button by role and check submission text in Playwright.

On 2026-10-13, we sent MCP messages directly to the official endpoint https://mcp.context7.com/mcp. This is a service-call record; no new assistant configuration was installed.

Use Context7 to query Playwright documentation. First resolve the correct library with resolve-library-id, then use query-docs to find how getByLabel fills an input, getByRole clicks a button and getByText checks feedback. Include the returned official source links and state whether a library version was specified. Do not edit my project.

Actual Requests and Results

Outcome: all four requests returned results, including documentation relevant to the question. The examples were not executed or validated in the user’s project.

  1. initialize: started communication, returned 200, and reported service name Context7 with version 4.3.0.
  2. tools/list: retrieved available tools and returned 200.
  3. resolve-library-id: queried Playwright, returned 200 and selected /microsoft/playwright.
  4. query-docs: queried form and button interactions using that ID, returned 200, and supplied getByLabel, getByRole and getByText documentation with source links.

Apply the Results to Your Task

  1. Prepare a working client or MCP connection using current official Context7 instructions. With an available connection, use the prompt above.
  2. Check the returned library ID and official sources. This request selected /microsoft/playwright and linked to documentation on the Playwright repository’s main branch.
  3. Check your project’s Playwright version before trying the methods in a small test. No library version was specified in this query.

Environment and Limits

Recorded at 2026-10-13T01:36:44.862818+00:00. Version 4.3.0 is reported by the service; it is not the Playwright library version or an installed assistant plugin version.

These four requests used no API key and returned 200. One successful run does not establish permanent anonymous access or unrestricted quotas; consult current service requirements. Assistant settings were not changed. Installation, model version and project execution were not verified.

Sources and ranking

This directory lists AI development plugins with public source code and a clear purpose. Browse by task, then open an introduction to learn what a project does, who it is for, and what you need to get started. It covers selected projects, not every AI plugin.

How do the three plugin types differ?

Tool connections (MCP) let AI assistants use external tools such as browsers, code repositories and databases. MCP is the protocol used for these connections.

Reusable skills give a compatible AI assistant instructions and guidance for a particular task.

Editor plugins run inside the software you use to write code, adding AI chat, completions or suggested edits.

How does “Most starred” work?

Projects are sorted by their total GitHub stars. Stars indicate interest; they are not downloads, active users or quality scores. A skill pack counts as one project. Daily star growth is not shown without historical records.

What does “Recently updated” mean?

It uses the most recent code push, which may not be a new release. The 7-day filter checks that project update time; ranking still uses all-time stars. Each introduction shows when its star count was collected. Failed updates keep the last saved data.

Introductions are based on public project documentation. These projects have not each been installed and tested here. Check the project documentation for setup, compatibility and service costs. Refreshing this list only reads saved data; it does not start collection.
