Task skills

OpenCLI

jackwener/opencli

Give an AI assistant steps to operate websites through Chrome and create reusable OpenCLI commands.

What is OpenCLI?

Prepared by LessAI Tools from public project documentation

OpenCLI combines browser automation commands with reusable skills for coding assistants. Use its browser skill for page operations, its adapter-author skill to build website commands, and its autofix skill when an adapter stops working.

It is useful for developers who want repeatable browser workflows while using their own signed-in browser. This listing covers the repository as one skill bundle. This site reviewed public documentation and did not install or run these skills.

OpenCLI setup documentation

What you need

  • Use a compatible coding assistant. The npm installation needs Node.js 20.18.1 or newer; the desktop application bundles its runtime.
  • Browser operations need Chrome or Chromium, the Browser Bridge extension and any account required by the target website.

Limitations and costs

  • Site adapters and account requirements vary. Browser access does not guarantee every website feature is available as a stable command.
  • Review permissions before allowing actions in a signed-in browser. This listing does not verify compatibility or third-party service charges for every website.

OpenCLI use cases

  • Operate a browser page with the opencli-browser skill.
  • Create website commands with the opencli-adapter-author skill.
  • Use the opencli-autofix skill to investigate broken adapters.

The project’s original description

Make Any Website into CLI & Use your logged-in browser by AI agent.

Alternatives to OpenCLI for similar tasks

Matches the main use case first, then shared tasks and stars. Setup methods may differ.

  • Webcmd — Let AI operate a browser and reuse documented navigation steps.
  • Agent Browser — Give AI a browser for navigation, forms, and screenshots.
  • Superpowers — Give AI a development workflow for clarifying requirements, planning, coding, and checking results.

Sources and ranking

This directory lists AI development plugins with public source code and a clear purpose. Browse by task, then open an introduction to learn what a project does, who it is for, and what you need to get started. It covers selected projects, not every AI plugin.

How do the three plugin types differ?

Tool connections (MCP) let AI assistants use external tools such as browsers, code repositories and databases. MCP is the protocol used for these connections.

Reusable skills give a compatible AI assistant instructions and guidance for a particular task.

Editor plugins run inside the software you use to write code, adding AI chat, completions or suggested edits.

How does “Most starred” work?

Projects are sorted by their total GitHub stars. Stars indicate interest; they are not downloads, active users or quality scores. A skill pack counts as one project. Daily star growth is not shown without historical records.

What does “Recently updated” mean?

It uses the most recent code push, which may not be a new release. The 7-day filter checks that project update time; ranking still uses all-time stars. Each introduction shows when its star count was collected. Failed updates keep the last saved data.

Introductions are based on public project documentation. These projects have not each been installed and tested here. Check the project documentation for setup, compatibility and service costs. Refreshing this list only reads saved data; it does not start collection.
