01

Generate visual assets from scratch

Start with ImageGen when you need backgrounds, illustrations, scenes, concepts, or cover assets.

Polish an existing visual

Use Generative Polish after the layout and content are correct but the lighting, atmosphere, depth, or texture still need work.

Polish should preserve exact content, not regenerate the whole design.See the controlled polish workflow

Exact text, logos, and data

Prices, charts, product claims, UI screenshots, and brand typography belong in a deterministic design workflow.

Q01

Do you already have a correct base visual?

A minimal image workflow

Use ImageGen when you need a background, illustration, scene, concept, or cover asset. Consider Generative Polish only after the content and layout are right and the visual needs a more deliberate final finish.

These are not simply two competing image Skills. ImageGen provides image-generation or editing capability. Generative Polish is a workflow for applying that capability within controlled boundaries.

Keep exact content out of a blind regeneration pass

Logos, body copy, prices, data, charts, product claims, legal text, and UI screenshots must remain accurate. Build those elements with deterministic tools, generate or edit only the visual finish, then composite the exact elements back into the result.

Useful combinations and unnecessary overlap

  • ImageGen + deterministic layout: create assets, then add exact copy and brand elements.
  • ImageGen + Generative Polish: combine them only when finished assets still need a controlled polish pass.
  • Images in video: move to the video tool map when you also need animation or a timeline. ImageGen is not a full video framework.

If the image already meets the brief, stop. More tools do not automatically make the design better.
